O DJ/Produtor francês Arno Cost, desde que surgiu para a cena em 2006, só vem acumulando sucesso e reconhecimento em sua carreira.
Um de seus primeiros singles com Norman Doray foi ‘Apocalypse‘, lançado na Cr2 e refeito em 2014 quando assinou contrato com a Spinnin Records. Posteriormente, ‘Strong‘ e ‘Nightventure” com Greg Cerrone chamou a atenção da label Size do Steve Angello e foram ambas lançados. No mesmo ano ele foi escolhido para remixar a faixa “Feet On The Ground” de Nicky Romero e a estrela do rock holandês, Anouk.
Em 2015 Arno desenvolveu o seu ‘When In Paris‘, onde ele já lançou um programa de rádio quinzenal projetado para mostrar e preservar sons com autenticidade parisiense. Seu estilo musical diferente e cheias de groove nasceu de uma série de influências francesas, incluindo disco, pop e música eletrônica, que é evidente em suas produções incríveis e DJ sets!

Olá Arno Cost, é bom tê-lo aqui na Wonderland In Rave. Então, 2015 foi incrível para você, lançando músicas na Armada, Sosumi, Interscope e Protocol. E para este ano você está mudando o seu estilo, trazendo um estilo mais House para suas músicas. O que o levou a esta nova direção?
Estou sempre tentando encontrar novos rumos na minha música, eu não quero estar preso a um gênero, mesmo que a maioria das minhas produções são progressive house. Este ano, eu estou ainda mais aberto para arriscar coisas diferentes, experimentar coisas novas. É bem empolgante e abre novos horizontes
É difícil não falar sobre isso hoje em dia, mas, muitas pessoas dizem que o ” chamado EDM ” está chegando ao fim. Você acha que isso é verdade?
Eu acho que é sim. Tem sido uma tendência, e as pessoas se cansaram com isso porque não teve sucesso na renovação. As pessoas querem músicas bonitas de novo, músicas com Groove novamente. E devo dizer que estou muito animado sobre isso!
Vemos tantos grandes artistas a começar novos gravadoras, assim podem fazer o que vem na cabeça e não têm barreiras com sua música. Você pretende abrir seu próprio selo musical em breve?
Sim, eu quero, mas por agora estou concentrado em fazer músicas novas. É difícil encontrar tempo para tudo, mas é uma ideia que está em andamento. Quero ser capaz de lanças minha música com mais facilidade e também lançar novas artistas talentosos, e a melhor maneira de fazer isso é ter o seu próprio selo!
Agora, vamos falar sobre Tomorrowland Brasil! Você foi confirmado no line-up da edição desse edição, você está animado para tocar na edição brasileira do Tomorrowland?
Claro, Tomorrowland é um dos maiores festivais do mundo. Estou super animado! Além disso, eu conheço o Brasil muito bem, já toquei por aí bastante, e é sempre um prazer voltar!
Você tocou no Green Valley, em 2012, se me lembro direito. O que você acha do nosso público? Você já experiementou ” caipirinhas ” aqui?
Toquei no Green Valley no ano passado também. Este clube é muito foda!! O público brasileiro é grande, eles realmente gostam de festa e dançar e isso é o que importa !! E sobre Caipirinhas É claro que tomei! Adoro !!!
Nossa cena eletrônica está crescendo exponencialmente, grandes eventos como Tomorrowland, EDC e agora Ultra está chegando ao Brasil e não apenas as festas, mas os produtores como FTampa, Alok e Vintage Culture também está tocando em grandes eventos na Europa e EUA. Você acha que o Brasil está agora entrando em cena de música eletrônica do mundo?
Sim, é claro, mas não é uma novidade. Quero dizer, o Brasil já era famoso há alguns anos com produtores como Felguk ou Gui Boratto. Mas vendo mais nomes do seu país me faz feliz, e acho que isso é apenas o começo!
Então, vamos falar sobre você novamente. Seu novo Coming Alive EP, lançou na Protocol Recordings e é o primeiro EP lançado nessa grande gravadora. Quais foram as suas influências e quanto tempo você gastou para criar esta obra-prima?
Eu criei essas duas faixas, sem pressão, sem grande influência. Eu apenas fiz o que eu gostava. Para Coming Alive, que é mais House, eu criei os loops de piano e as cordas que soaram muito bem juntos na minha opinião e nós ficamos procurando o vocal perfeito durante semanas até encontrar. Eu estou muito orgulhoso dessa música e esperamos que possa chegar às rádios brasileiras!
Sobre a 1000 suns, levou alguns dias para terminá-la, eu estava bastante inspirado para ser sincero, e esse gênero não é algo novo para mim. Eu amo fazer faixas progressivas!!
É sempre bom ver produtores que realmente se preocupam com os novatos, e você parece que realmente se importa, pois subiu no Splice um seus projetos ”returned”. É realmente difícil para se destacar hoje em dia, qual é a sua dica para que os novos produtores consigam se destacar?
Eu acho que novos produtores precisam ser diferentes. Há tanta concorrência hoje … Seja diferente e trabalhe para C#$%LHO! Essa é a chave para o sucesso na minha opinião!
Diga-nos, o que dizer de 2016? Você tem segredos para ser revelados?
2016 vai ter muita música nova, novos shows, novos gêneros … Nós já estamos preparando o meu novo lançamento, mas eu não posso dizer pra quando sairá, por enquanto!

Hello Arno Cost, it is nice to have you on Wonderland In Rave. So, 2015 was a blast to you, releasing music on Armada, Sosumi, Interscope and Protocol. And for this year, you’re changing your style, bringing more house vibes to your music. What led you to this new direction?
I am always trying to find new directions in my music, i dont want to be stuck in one genre, even if most of my productions are progressive house. This year, i’m even more open to release different stuff, try new things. It’s very exciting and opens new horizons
It’s hard not to talk about this nowadays, but, many people have called that the ”so called EDM” is coming to an end. Do you think this is true?
I thnk it is yes. It’s been a trend, and people start to be tired about it because it didn’t succeed in renewing. People want beautiful music again, groovy music again. And I must say I’m pretty excited about it !
We see so many great artists starting new labels, so they can make whatever they want and have no boundaries with their music. Do you plan to opening your own music label anytime soon?
Yes I am but for now im focusing on making new music. It’s hard to find time for everything but this is definitely in the pipeline. We want to be able to release my music easily and also launch new talented artists’ careers, and the best way to do it is to have your own label !
Now, let’s about Tomorrowland Brazil! You’ve been confirmed on the line up of this years edition, are you excited to play in our brazilian edition of Tomorrowland?
Of course, Tomorrowland has become one of the biggest festival in the world. I’m super excited ! Plus, i know Brazil quite well, ive been playing there a lot of times, and it’s always a pleasure to come back there !
It is not your first time in Brazil, right? You played on Green Valley in 2012, if I remember it right. What do you think of our crowd? Do you have drink any ”caipirinhas” over here?
Indeed, it’s not. I played Green Valley last year too. This club is sick !! The Brazilian crowd is great, they really like to party and dance and it’s all that matters !! Of course I’ve had Caipirinhas ! Love it !!!
Our eletronic music scene is growing exponentially, big events like Tomorrowland, EDC and now Ultra is arriving to Brazil and not only those festivals, but producers like FTampa, Alok and Vintage Culture are also playing in major events in Europe and USA. Do you think Brazil is now entering the world electronic music scene?
Yeah of course, but it’s not new. I mean Brazil was already famous a few years ago with producers like Felguk or Gui Boratto. But seeing more names from your country makes me happy, and I think this is only the beginning !
So, let’s talk about you again. Your new Coming Alive EP, is coming on Protocol Recordings and it’s the first EP to release on this major record label. What are your influences and how much time you spend to create this masterpiece?
I created those two tracks with no pressure, no major influence. I just did what i liked. For Coming Alive, which is more house, i just created the piano and string loops which sound great together in my opinion and we looked for a vocal for weeks before finding the right one. Im very very proud of that tune and we hope it will get to the Brazilian radios !
About 1000 suns, the track took a few days to me to finish it, i was quite inspired to be honnest, and this genre is not very new to me. I love making progressive tracks !!
It’s always nice to see producers that really care about newcomers, and you seen to really do care, as you spliced one your projects ”Returned”. It’s really hard to stand out nowadays, what’s your tip to all the new producers to stand out?
I think new producers need to be different. There is so much competition today… Be different and work your ass off ! Thats the key to success in my opinion
Tell us, what about 2016? Do you have any secrets to be ”unfolded”?
2016 is going to be about new music, new gigs, new genres… We are already preparing my new release, but I can’t tell you were and when for now !
